STAY HYDRATED
Well-hydrated skin takes ink more evenly and heals faster. Drink water normally in the days before your session — not just the morning of.
WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area. Tight waistbands over a hip tattoo, or sleeves that won't roll up over a forearm piece, are common mistakes.
BRING YOUR ID
Every reputable shop requires government-issued photo ID. No exceptions. No ID, no tattoo.
AVOID ALCOHOL FOR 24 HOURS
Alcohol thins the blood, affects healing, and most reputable shops won't tattoo anyone who's been drinking. 24 hours minimum before your session.
